TALKING BEAUTY

Andrew James, Lancôme’s national make-up artist, shares insider tricks and tips for the ultimate winter beauty looks.
How can we make our make-up last longer?
Use a primer (La Base Pro) to keep the foundation in place all day. Set pencil with matching eye shadow to keep the eye make-up looking fresh. And, always use good mascara.
What’s winter’s colour palette?
For the eyes we have cool browns (***Les Œillades in Blondette Fatale) accentuated with jet-black liner (***Art Liner). Three shades of red (***French Touch) for your lips, with soft flushed pale pink cheeks (***Maison Lancôme).
What’s the hottest lip colour for winter 2012?
Red! But it must match your skin tone.
What does every woman need in her make-up bag now?
It’s Lancôme’s Rouge in Love lipstick. It’s the first longwearing lipstick that won’t go matte or dry out your pout.
Heavy eyes versus heavy lips; what’s your opinion?
For now, heavy lips teamed with clean, neutrally sculpted eyes – lined with black liquid liner on the top lids and mascara.
If you’re going from the office to a cocktail party with little time for make-up, how can we glam up instantly?
A little powder (Poudre Majeur Excellance) to even out your complexion, an extra layer or two of volumising mascara (Hypnôse Drama) and a bold lip colour (Rouge in Love).
