STUDENT BLOGGER RECEIVES RECOGNITION
First year BSc Fashion Management and Communication student at the North West School of Design, Karla Bosch, has been requested to blog about the Icon range at Young Designers Emporium (YDE) on a regular basis.
Karla started her blog, ikarlabosch.blogspot.com, towards the end of February 2012 because being a fashion student, singer and model, she felt as though this would be a great step to starting her fashion future. A motivational lecturer and her fellow students assisted her in taking this invaluable step.
Whilst perusing the latest fashion trends for Autumn/Winter 2012 on the YDE Facebook page, Karla came across their Icon: Glam Collection and instantly fell in love with this new and exciting range. Being a huge fan of YDE and wanting to post something about South African fashion, Karla did not hesitate to blog about the sensational Icon range. When posting this blog, little did she know what reaction this would evoke. Karla received an e-mail from Icon (YDE)recognising her blog posting and thanking her for sharing their collection with her readers and followers. Karla was also asked to continue writing and featuring Icon on her blog recurrently. Thrilled and flattered, this first year student blogger accepted their request with open arms.
When asked about what advice she would give to fellow up and coming bloggers, Karla gave the following advice: “Blog about your country. Praise it. Love it. Never put your country down. Never give up on anything that you are doing- keep on typing!”
Allow Karla’s experience to serve as inspiration for bloggers of any age- be positive in what your country has to offer and doors might open for you too.
